Quilt Show - K.V., Beautiful Quilts

I had the good fortune to meet Alice Chancy at the K.V. Quilt Show. Alice is a very talented quilter from Ottawa, she was here visiting her friend, another talented quilter, Susan McEachern. Here are a couple of pictures of quilts made by both Alice, and Sue. The Heart quilt is Alice's, the Mouse Wallhanging is Sue's.

Red Hat Ladies Invade Quilt Show!!!

The K.V. Quilt show is going on this weekend and while I was there for the opening on Thursday I ran into some very wild ladies. These ladies are part of the women's group Red Hatters. They were kind enough to pose for me and give me permission to post their pictures. I think the whole idea of their group is to just have fun. Obviously purple and red are a very important part of that fun! I do have a passion for purple, all that know me know that, but not so much for red. They ladies have inspired me to design some kind of Red Hatters pattern.
The show is so beautiful, I will be back today to do a demo for Town & Country Quilts and will take more pictures to share with you.

Quilting Cat - Ty Helps Me!!

Well due to a very long power outage I am not quite finished hand stitching the binding on the new Easy Peasy. Last night we had a power outage that lasted about 8 hours and was very wide spread. Apparently there was a build-up of salt water on some transformers near St. Martins. This is a remnant of the last hurricane. All is back to normal now.
As I was sewing the binding together Ty deceided to HELP me! I did get it away from him and it is now on

the quilt. I have a little more hand stitching to do, then it will be finished!

Cool Cat, Cool Quilt

Well, I am trying to make another sample of my Easy Peasy to hang at Fabricville, but you can imagine who can't stay off!  Pippa can not stay off a quilt when I am trying to lay it out!  For those of you who have a design wall it would not be a problem, but I use my floor.  I am going to sew it together now, and guess who is laying on the pinned blocks?  Yup, that's right!

I will post a picture of this quilt finished, hopefully tomorrow.  It is quite different from colours that i usually choose, but once in awhile I like to challenge myself, I quite like it.  The fabric is Northcott's Martindale by Ro Gregg.
